lincolnshire care homes and lincolnshire nursing homes

England | East Midlands | Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire is England's second largest county by area yet only 18th in population. It also has England's shortest county boundary where it borders with Northamptonshire for a mere 19 metres. Being a mostly rural county its' economy relies strongly on agriculture. It also is popular with tourists, visiting both the county town Lincoln, with its' famous cathedral and Christmas market, and the seaside resort of Skegness.

Lincolnshire is one of the least ethically diverse counties in England with the last census recording the population as being 98.5% "white". At the same time its' minority population fluctuates greatly with the influx of migrant workers during harvesting time.

As of the 2001 census there were 87,797 people aged over 70 living in Lincolnshire, approximately 13.6% of the total population. Within the region there are 421 residential care and nursing care homes providing services for older people and people with learning disabilities.
